The cold weather snap we're currently experiencing in the UK reminds us of our need for energy to survive and may cause some to wonder whether current policies are sufficient to provide for our needs. Scientific studies of solar cycles, galactic cosmic rays and oceanic oscillations suggest we are at the start of a cooling period which could herald significantly lower global temperatures which would drive up energy demand.

There are a number of blogs Daily Pickings monitors to keep abreast of the science and politics of climate change. Tallbloke's Talkshop provides interesting scientific analysis and a recent post caught my attention because it addresses the issue of energy policy.
