3. Evidence of hierarchy – Near Stonehenge 3000BC mass graves with no evidence of hierarcy but arrival of the bekers heralded the transition for hierarchy – Burial site 2600BC with suggestion of hierarchy. Onset of the “flood” commerce – we are vessels floating in the sea of commerce, governed by maritime law. Why is evidence of non-hierarchy in pre-literate times important? Are we competitive or cooperative by nature. The political economy makes us competitive but is it our natural predisposition?
